When our customer wanted to thoroughly test their active protection product – and demonstrate its effectiveness to their end-users – they needed access to top facilities and specialist support for testing against a wide variety of threats.
They needed a knowledgeable yet flexible partner with whom to plan their test project, agreeing on which standards to test against. Together with the customer, FMV Test and Evaluation (T&E) ensured that the test could be conducted safely and with full documentation.

The solution: A tailored T&E project at Karlsborg Land Test Centre
Having worked with FMV T&E in the past, the customer was already familiar with our test facilities and flexibility, which would deliver the service and delivery they had come to expect.
At Karlsborg Land Test Centre, we provided a catch box for safety, with a built-in x-ray to check for any cracks in the test object or projectile. We provided the threat, which was remotely fired from a fixed gun position on the range. Our experienced staff gathered all the data from the firings, including pictures, videos and x-ray results and compiled a comprehensive test report for the customer.

The result: Verified protection for front line units
The successful and thoroughly-documented test results enabled the customer to verify the requirements of the active protection product. They were also able to perform a live demonstration, so that the end-user could witness the effectiveness of the product.
