Airborne Weapon & Electronic Warfare Systems

Are your systems mission-ready?

Before deploying, demanding and realistic test and evaluation (T&E) of your weapon and electronic warfare systems must be performed. For thorough T&E projects, you’ll need a large, restricted area and the right infrastructure to meet your testing needs – both in the air and on the ground.

New weapons, modifications of existing weapons or modifications of weapon-related interfaces of your airborne platform will all require validation of both the weapon platform and weapon system. From firing an automatic gun to dropping a large live bomb or firing long-range missiles to stand-off weapons, FMV T&E has the technical competence and know-how to support your operations.

Advanced airborne weapon system T&E scenarios

At FMV T&E, tracking and documenting system performance from deployment to target scoring with high precision is part of our daily work. We offer the capacity, land and air space and T&E experience to validate your system’s performance, with realistic targets on the ground and in the air. To make your scenarios more complex, we can also introduce chaffs, flares and GPS or radar jamming.

FMV T&E offers the following main scenarios for weapon systems. An electronic warfare environment can also be added to perform T&E under jammed conditions, if and when required.

Air to air

Launch airborne weapons towards other air targets using beyond-visual-range (BVR) weapons with live warheads and advanced in-house target drones — all in realistic scenarios. We document weapons separation, trajectory and target impact. Telemetry (TM) and Flight Termination Systems (FTS) are also available.

Air to surface

Launch airborne weapons towards surface targets using live warheads, which include laser-guided weapons. Fire on customised fixed or moving targets, such as our remotely piloted vehicles, which can be illuminated with lasers. We document weapon separation, trajectory and target impact. GPS jamming can also be performed on your platform and weapon during the flight and weapon release. Complete Telemetry (TM) and Flight Termination System (FTS) coverage over the whole range are a given.

Realistic scenarios for your electronic warfare T&E

Whether you require real systems, stimulators, simulators or emulators, we can tailor a realistic scenario with surprise factors for your actual needs and plan out the most effective T&E or tactical training. FMV T&E also has the facilities and infrastructure to offer electronic warfare training on a tactical level, with the performance of live electronic warfare jamming.

We also offer training scenarios that can be combined with your test project.

Test and evaluation of countermeasure and dispensing systems

To be prepared for future missions and challenges, verifying the functionality of your countermeasure and dispensing systems (CMDS) is crucial. At FMV T&E, you can do just this. Simulation of countermeasure aerodynamics, such as chaff and flare trajectories, to ensure safe separation or having FOD (Foreign Object Damage) entering the engines, is followed by both ground and flight trials.
