Our FMV Land Test Centres (LTCs) are equipped with all you need to get the job done. With advanced test systems and facilities plus full technical support, we’ll get you the results you need, quickly and efficiently.
Over decades of operation, FMV Test and Evaluation (T&E) LTCs have obtained and developed the resources, technical systems and expertise necessary to cover all your land T&E needs.

Test systems
The advanced test systems and resources at our FMV Land Test Centres include:
- One of Europe’s largest catch boxes (25 x 20 x 35m) with built-in X-ray equipment
- High speed photo and video
- Surveillance radar
- Tracking radar
- V0-radar
- Meteorological sounding balloons
- Ammunition analysis laboratory
- Pressure measurement
- Climate boxes
- Climate chamber (6 x 12 x 5.5m) for testing of environmental tolerance including temperature, salt spray, moisture, fuel-fire, water pressure and sun exposure
- Mechanical tolerance testing facilities for vibration, shaking, impact, jolting, dropping and loose cargo

Target systems
- Customised fixed targets (board, containers, bunkers, bridges etc.)
- Customised remotely piloted ground vehicles (vans, tanks, UGV, LIMO etc.)
Karlsborg Land Test Centre infrastructure
- Instrumented shooting range, up to 2 km overland
- Firing area over Lake Vättern, launch area at Karlsborg
Skövde Land Test Centre infrastructure
- 3 km test track comprised of 2 km dirt track and 1 km asphalt
- Concrete vehicle testing ramps up to 40°, vertical obstacles and a fording basin for depths up to 2.5 m
- Weighbridge for determining a vehicle’s centre of gravity
Access to Älvdalen Firing Range
- 540 km² restricted ground area
- 700 x 1000 m hardened target area
- Possibility to detonate up to 30 000 kg TNT equivalent
- Air strip for UAS
- Helipad
- Tent hangar (Chinook size)
- Military-standard accommodation for up to 600 people
- Canteen at basecamp
